Using 3D Technology for Capital Investment Projects in Manufacturing
At IN 3D TECHNOLOGY, our founder contributed to the implementation of several capital investment projects for a global organization, using advanced 3D technologies to address complex challenges in a manufacturing environment. This experience contributed to the development of our practical approach to mechanical engineering projects, with a focus on accurate data, project planning, safety, and effective implementation.
Key Project Challenges
Limited Installation Space: The available installation area was restricted, requiring careful planning and precise equipment positioning.
Large-Scale Equipment: The projects involved the installation of large, heavy, and complex equipment.
Vendor Communication: Communication challenges with equipment vendors created potential risks during the design and integration of process equipment.
Safety Requirements: Working at height and performing hot work activities required careful safety planning and control.
Ongoing Production: Installation activities had to be coordinated with ongoing production to minimize disruption.
Short Implementation Period: The available time for project implementation was limited, requiring detailed planning and coordination.
Technical Documentation: Comprehensive documentation was required to support installation, future maintenance, and faster understanding of the equipment and systems.
Project Goals

By using 3D laser scanning, CAD models, virtual simulations, and other 3D engineering methods, we supported the project team in addressing these challenges during the planning and implementation phases.
Accurate 3D data helped improve communication between project participants, evaluate equipment positioning, identify potential installation issues, plan installation activities, and support safety analysis before work was performed on-site.
This approach contributed to a more controlled installation process, with a focus on safety, efficient project execution, and minimal impact on production.
