Simulation of Method of Installation in CAD Environment
Service: Simulation of Method of Installation in CAD Environment
Location: Skopje
Time: December 2018 - March 2019
Project Overview
Objective:
The project aimed to create a comprehensive simulation in a CAD environment for the installation activities related to new equipment. The simulation covered all preparation activities based on the As-Built model, step-by-step installation actions, timelines for each system, and the use of necessary tools and machinery while following high Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards. Clash analysis was an integral part of the simulation, supporting better coordination and execution of the installation process.
Scope of Work:
1. Simulation Development:
Created a detailed simulation in a CAD environment to visualize and analyze the installation activities.
Included preparation activities based on the As-Built model and defined step-by-step installation actions for each system.
Established timelines for the planned activities, supporting efficient scheduling and resource allocation.
Integrated EHS requirements into the simulation to support safer planning and execution of installation activities.
2. Clash Reports and Analysis:
Conducted clash analysis for individual components and equipment throughout the process, from transportation to final installation.
Identified potential clashes between the existing infrastructure and new equipment, allowing conflicts to be addressed during the planning phase.
Provided information for defining the correct sequence and order of installation activities to reduce risks and support efficient execution.
Key Outcomes
Detailed Installation Planning: Developed a comprehensive CAD simulation that visualized installation activities and supported better planning and coordination.
Improved Safety Planning: Incorporated EHS requirements into the simulation to identify potential risks and support safer installation activities.
Clash Identification: Conducted clash analysis to identify and resolve potential conflicts between existing infrastructure and new equipment before installation.
Defined Installation Sequence: Established a clear sequence for installation activities, supporting efficient execution and reducing the risk of disruptions.
This project demonstrates the practical use of CAD-based simulation for planning complex equipment installation activities. Through detailed visualization, clash analysis, sequencing, and EHS planning, we provided the project team with a clearer understanding of the installation process before on-site execution, supporting better coordination, safety, and project control.
