Project Overview
Description:
We developed an BIM MEP 3D model from detailed 2D drawings, focusing on the hot water generation building. The project included 3D modeling of hot and cold water pipelines, as well as detailed 3D CAD modeling of mechanical equipment. Autodesk Revit was used for the primary BIM modeling, with additional equipment modeling completed in AutoCAD 3D and SOLIDWORKS.
Scope of Work:
1. LOD 500 BIM MEP 3D Model:
Created a detailed LOD 500 BIM MEP model based on the provided 2D drawings.
Modeled hot and cold water piping systems and incorporated families, links, technical information, and tag numbers into the BIM environment.
2. Mechanical Equipment 3D CAD Modeling:
Created detailed 3D CAD models of mechanical equipment for the hot water generation building.
Integrated relevant links, tags, and technical information to support easier identification, navigation, and management of individual components.
3. Software Utilization:
Used Autodesk Revit as the primary platform for BIM modeling and coordination of the MEP systems.
Created additional equipment models in AutoCAD 3D and SOLIDWORKS and integrated the resulting 3D data into the BIM environment.
Key Outcomes
Detailed BIM Model: Delivered an LOD 500 BIM MEP model representing the hot and cold water piping systems and associated mechanical equipment.
Structured Technical Data: Integrated families, links, tags, and technical information to improve component identification and data management within the BIM model.
Integrated 3D CAD Data: Combined detailed equipment models created in AutoCAD 3D and SOLIDWORKS with the Autodesk Revit BIM environment to provide coordinated 3D project data.
By combining BIM MEP modeling, detailed 3D CAD equipment modeling, and structured technical information, we provided ChemHem with a comprehensive digital model of the hot water generation building. The resulting model supports equipment identification, technical data management, system coordination, maintenance planning, and future engineering activities.
